TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Teaching is an open-ended and on-going dialogue between the teacher and student. The role of the teacher is to find who the individual is both musically and as a person and give them the tools to reflect this in every note of the music. I believe wholeheartedly that there are endless possibilities in the way that music is taught as each person brings their own individual experiences with them. I strive to create an environment that allows students to achieve their goals on an individual basis and through this process also help students develop ways to self-evaluate and assess their playing. Together we will assess these individual goals and create short-term and  long-term technical, artistic, and performance goals.

FORMAT

Lessons are held in 30 /45 minute and 1 hour increments . Lessons are customized to each student's goals whether that is gaining the tools to become a more well-rounded player, gaining confidence in a large ensemble setting, preparing for auditions, or wanting to receive a second opinion on repertoire interpretation among others.

SETTING

Lessons are held in-person in the New York City area and remotely via Zoom, Facetime, and Skype.
